“After losing them [his shoes that is], he ran on four legs and went faster, so that I think he might have got away altogether if he had not unfortunately run into a gooseberry net, and got caught by the large buttons on his jacket. It was a blue jacket with brass buttons, quite new.”
That, my friends, is my favourite exerpt from “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”. The first time I read it to my baby girl memories came back. Odd memories. I could taste a certain taste; smell a certain smell; feel a certain feeling of being a tiny person and drinking chamomile tea in my yellow cup, of trying very hard to mix the batter of whatever it was that we were baking so well that my mom wouldn’t have to do so after me. Now if you aren’t familiar with Peter, he lives with his family underneath a very big fir tree, hense the name of this space.
All the recipes are made with good for you ingredients and whole foods, they nourish and that is all.
Oh, and hey, happy day.
